Plenty of music will be featured that celebrates San Antonio’s role in giving birth to the state of Texas, while other tunes feature the Latino flavor which is always part of the mix, and a few other surprises make this a concert that is always fun to attend. Esteban Garcia, a recent graduate of Texas State University, will be the featured soloist in a performance of Gordon Jacob’s “Horn Concerto”. This young Texas native is a fantastically talented musician from whom much will be heard in coming years. Expect to hear a Spanish paso doble, an Italian marcia sinfonica, a French pas redoublé and others in this program. Featured composers will include, among others, Kenneth J. Alford (United Kingdom), Johann Strauss (Austria), Peter Tchaikovsky (Russia), and America’s John Philip Sousa. This concert will keep your toes tapping and your heart pounding. Don’t miss it.
