Simon Cowell defends Britain’s Got Talent acrobatic-dancing gran Paddy Jones
Simon Cowell has taken to Twitter to defend Britain’s Got Talent finalist Paddy Jones over complaints that she has already won a Spanish talent show.
Jones, 79, and her much younger partner Nico Espinosa wowed the judges – including Cowell – with their , with Amanda Holden using her golden buzzer to send them straight through to the semi-finals.
The video of the pair’s audition has already clocked up nearly 4million views on YouTube, although some fans later complained after it was revealed that the great-grandmother had previously won Spanish television show Tu Si Que Vales in 2009.

Cowell has since hit the social networking site to defend Paddy & Nico’s right to enter Britain’s Got Talent, saying: ‘Don’t knock Paddy for performing on a Spanish talent show. She is British and wants the chance to perform in front of our royal family.’
‘She is 80 years old. Let her have that chance. You the viewers will decide.’
Britain’s Got Talent continues on Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
