Spanish  

The goal of the Spanish program is to introduce students in Grades 1 through 8 to the fun of learning Spanish in a challenging classroom environment.  Organized by topics, the students learn basic grade appropriate lessons in Spanish vocabulary, grammar, and culture, all in a faith based atmosphere through the use of games, songs, projects and phonetic lessons.  The program promotes learning about various aspects of culture and geography, through presentations on various holidays and traditions that are specific to the countries that make up the Spanish-speaking world. The objective is to promote a positive attitude towards cultural diversity.

Mandarin

In Grade 7, students are given the option to continue their Spanish lessons or to participate in the two-year middle school Mandarin class.  Students learn common phrases and vocabulary as well as Chinese characters and culture.
